“ Oh my lord!! This place is fantastic! Gianna is exceptional, she helped us since it was our first time, knew other patrons by name, etc. A++++ human! The sandwiches are fantastic!! The bread is so good, fillings are generous! There is limited seating inside and the line did get quite long but it moved quickly and tables flipped regularly. ”
“ I have wanted to visit for years but the line situation just kind of threw me off. But today was the day I decided to give it a go and wow, what have I been missing?!? Sure the line was long but it moves fairly quick. The runners are calling out your name for your food within 5 minutes. Finding a table was surprisingly easy as it seems most people take their sandwich to go. I ordered the bada bang and there aren't enough words to describe how good it was. In my opinion, it was a perfect sandwich. Everything from the bread, to the meat to the toppings. Everything was just perfectly assembled and it was so flavorful. I already look forward to going back. ”
“ Best daytime sandwich shop in the St. Louis area. The food is always a 10/10. My go-to is the Bada Bang and let me tell you it's worth every penny. The ambience is a nice old time feel. There is limited seating inside but the service is prompt and cordial. Definitely a must go lunch spot. ”
“ Another Hidden Gem Unlocked in STL! Let me start by saying I have never waited in line for a restaurant to open! We were third in line for them to open at 1030 am. Parking is all street parking, and I highly suggest arriving as early as you can. The later it gets the busier it gets, and the line just grows out the door! There is so much Blues memorabilia to look at, it was a really ly fun environment. Again though seating is limited to around 18 spots give or take, and then a standing table as well. Now for the main reason we came here, the food! Red Beans and Rice. It has lots of Broth, similar to a soup, but the taste was phenomenal. Muffaletta-my husband had this. This was the smaller of the two choices, and it was very filling. The Old School was my sandwich of choice, and Omg I am so glad I did. My mouth is already watering to come back for more. The pastrami is made in house, it was tender and so juicy. I added the boom boom sauce instead of mustard, it added a little kick of spice that I really enjoyed. I chose sourdough for my bread type. It was fresh and toasted on a panini press. Can't wait to get it again! ”
“ An iconic STL staple nestled in historic Benton Park! As a vegetarian, I highly recommend the Garden Veggie. It is so perfectly balanced and has the most delicious red pepper sauce. Delicious! ”
“ This was a great find! Came on a Saturday and line was out the door. You knew it was something special! Got an outside table since the 5 inside tables were all taken. I got Mike's spicy cheddar and our party also got the knuckle sandwich and turkey. Service was fast they really hustle the food out. Top notch! ”
“ My boss and I went to Blues City for the first time. The restaurant was PACKED and a line out the door, which is a great sign that the food is great. We got a muffuletta, Reuben, and loaded potato salad. We were stuffed, but we ate every last crumb of food. We will be back to try the rest of the menu! ”
“ Looking for a good Italian sub/hoagie in St Louis? Look no further. Super-friendly counter staff actually listened to my mid-west pet peeve of too thick lunch meats and complied with my thin-as-possible deli cut. Unlike most St Louis eateries, this place had great flavor combinations and other establishments should take notice. There's a reason why this place is packed! And in addition to the tasty subs, the wide selection of chips as sides is a plus and for heavens sake, do not pass on the almond joy cookie! ”
“ I come here every time I'm in Stl on business. Definitely the best sandwich place in town and one of the best I've ever had period. And I'm a big sandwich dude. The ambiance here is amazing, with folks showing up from all walks of life -from brick layers to pro hockey players, and all with one goal in mind --to taste the best sandwich! I absolutely love their Big Tommy and Italian beef sandwiches. Both are full of flavor and melt in your mouth, as you sit inside and appreciate all the local wall art. Love this place! ”
